Ionic Silver

Currently, much emphasis is being placed on "Ionic Silver". Manufacturers of ionic silver often make statements like: "why use one big bullet when you can use thousands of little ones".

They are referring to the fact that they make lots of individual atoms (ions) and a colloid has the same amount of atoms in the solution, although in groups, so their logic is, that there is fewer individual pieces of silver to do the job.

This theory is sound only until you apply the rest of the information to the story, which is, the free silver ions will quickly bind to other ions of the opposite charge, such as chloride, nitrate and iodide.

You have instantly created a myriad of detrimental compounds that will agglomerate into useless sludge.

Worse still, are manufacturers who put in big letters across the label on the bottle: COLLOIDAL SILVER or SILVER COLLOID, then in the fine print talk about ionic silver, or protein bound silver, which is another form of silver compound.

Which is it?

It is either Colloidal, ionic or a compound, it can't be three states of matter all at one time can it? If someone doesn't even know the basic terminology, one would wonder whether they are actually competent to produce a product of any quality, or is all simply marketing "hype"?

AC Silver

AC produced silver is starting to appear in the market place. AC, which stands for alternating current. People using these devices claim that they make a superior product. Unfortunately this is not true.

These machines are even worse than the common electrical devices usually used. As their own promotional photo show in their advertising material, they make complex crystalline compound structures.

People using these machines have bought them overseas and do not have thorough knowledge of how to make colloidal silver. Rather, they use the advertising material from the manufacturers of the equipment that they purchased.

Colloid producing machines

There has also been over the years a trend by scammers to promote machines that you can purchase to produce your own colloidal silver at home. These silver making machines advertised on the Internet and in alternative magazines DO NOT MAKE COLLOIDAL SILVER! They make ionic silver.

Aetheric Connections has tested quite a number of these machines over the years and none of them have worked as claimed. As an example, one device was claimed to produce a 10 ppm solution of "high grade colloidal silver" in 20 minutes.

When tested in the Australian Colloidal Laboratories, using our own ultra-pure water that we produce our own colloid from, this device failed to make a measurable quantity of silver in the allotted time frame.

A significant amount silver was deposited into the water after nearly one hour (3.7 ppm measured by independent spectrographic analysis). However further testing revealed that the silver was ionic, no colloidal micelles were present.

Just as bad is the ridiculous price they demand for these falsely labelled gadgets. The machine mentioned above was sold over the Internet for $149.00. It contained less than $23.00 worth of parts including the silver wire ($14.20 value). Electronic components were compared at Jaycar and Dick Smith Electronics
